Privacy Policy

Dramour is a whisky discovery app. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at alexander.withers@outlook.com.

Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address. This is used to identify your account and personalise your experience.

Your collection. Bottle names, distilleries, tasting notes, ratings, tasting memories, and label photos you capture or enter are stored in your account and synced to our servers so you can restore them on a new device.

Dramcierge. Messages you send to Dramcierge (our AI assistant), and the things you ask it to remember about you, are stored in your account.

Voice chat. When you talk to Dramcierge, your recording is sent for transcription and the reply is turned into speech (see "AI services" below). We don't keep the recordings — only the transcript is saved to your chat.

Profile photo. If you add one, it's stored with your account and checked by an automated moderation service before other members can see it.

Location. Only when you choose to record where you tasted a whisky, and only with your permission. Your device's location is turned into a place name, which is saved with that bottle or post. We never track your location in the background.

Preferences. Your experience level, preferred flavours, and regions are stored with your account to personalise recommendations.

Usage and diagnostics. We record which screens you open, linked to your account, to understand how the app is used. Crash reports and performance data, tagged with your account ID and email, are sent to Sentry so we can fix problems.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can send Whisky Club updates.

Age verification. Your date of birth is stored locally on your device only. It is never sent to our servers.

— To sync your collection and preferences across your devices. — To power Dramcierge's personalised whisky recommendations. — To restore your data if you reinstall the app. — To find and fix crashes and improve the app. — We do not sell your data to third parties. — We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.

Some features rely on third-party AI services. Dramour asks your permission before sending anything of yours to them, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings → Your data. With it off, those features are unavailable; the rest of the app works as normal.

Anthropic (Claude) — reads bottle labels and menus from photos you take, and generates Dramcierge's replies from your messages, your collection, preferences and anything it remembers about you.

OpenAI — turns Dramcierge's replies into speech in voice chat, and checks profile photos for unsuitable content.

Deepgram — transcribes what you say in voice chat.

These providers process the data only to return a result to Dramour and keep it for a limited time under their own policies. Anthropic and OpenAI don't use data sent through their APIs to train their models. Separately, bottle names (not linked to you) are sent to Anthropic to look up catalogue details like distillery and cask.

Supabase — our database and file storage provider. Your account, collection, preferences, and chat history are stored on Supabase infrastructure.

Sentry — crash reporting and performance monitoring.

Apple / Google — authentication providers. Sign-in is handled by Apple or Google. We receive only the information you grant at sign-in (name, email). Apple and Google also deliver push notifications.

The Whisky Club is a small, invite-approved group inside the app. If you join, your posts, comments and ratings shared to the Club are visible to other members — identified by your first name only — even if you've turned off public reviews elsewhere in the app. When you share a bottle you've photographed, that one photo is shown with your post. The club owner can remove content or members that break the club's rules, and members can report or block one another.

Post locations. You can add where you tasted a whisky, or where to find one, to a club post. That location is shown to club members on the post and on the Whisky map, with posts dated by month only. Please only add public places such as bars, pubs, shops or distilleries — never a home address. Members can report a location as a private address, which hides it straight away until the club owner checks it, and the owner can remove it. You can take a post off the map or remove its location at any time.

Export. You can export your entire collection as a spreadsheet via Settings → Your data → Export collection.

Delete. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Delete account in the app, or on our delete account page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. If you're a Whisky Club member, you can choose whether your club posts and comments are deleted with your account or kept in the feed, shown to other members as posted by a "Former member" with no name or other identifying information attached.

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed from our servers within a few seconds. The AI services above may keep what was sent to them for a limited time under their own policies.

Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls that ensure only you can read or modify it. Bottle label photos are stored in private cloud storage accessible only to your account.

Dramour is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. The app includes an age gate that prevents access for underage users.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you within the app. Continued use of Dramour after changes constitutes acceptance.
